Big Brother Mzansi
Live show five is just around the corner and ladies and gentlemen brace
yourselves for the one and only chosen Cassper Nyovest who will be
representing on Sunday’s Live Show.
Born Refiloe Maele Phoolo in a Mafikeng, Cassper Nyovest’s love for performing started at an early age, the classy hip hop rapper would fight to be in every school play. You can’t keep a good rapper down, ya’ll.
Cassper cut his teeth in the music industry when he became a member of CHG (Childhood Gangsters) in 2004, but broke away as his ideas matured in different directions.
After a few setbacks, in 2008 he wrote a song “Holla at a Pantsula” to a beat by producer DJ Hypnosis which samples Grove Washington featuring the Bill Wither’s song “Just The Two Of Us”, which caught the attention of HipHop Pantsula. Yes, SA’s most famous hip hop offering. Dope!
HipHop Pantsula featured Cassper on his album Dumela joint “Wam Tseba Mtho” which launched him on to stages across South Africa and represented the Mzansi hood internationally in Botswana, Ghana, Lesotho, Namibia, and Mozambique. He also toured with HHP and Tuks in the UK in December 2011, performing in London and Milton Keynes. Cassper also features on HHP’s hit singles “Uwrongo” and “Padapa”, HHP sure knows how to spot talent.
Singed to no major, Cassper Nyovest is just a kid from Montshiwa with a Godly vision and an international dream.
