We most probably forget about what the
body language of people says and only focus on what they are voicing
out, yet according to experts like Geoffrey Beattie, a psychologist on
the set of Big Brother UK, the body language is very important and
should always be taken into consideration.
In particular, we’ve watched our Mzansi
housemates for 45 days now and clearly you can see the ‘alliances’ being
formed, though Biggie is doing all he can to suppress these groupings.
Big Brother Mzansi
House is a micro view of the real world and the psychology behind their
behaviour fascinates us, which is what keeps us glued to our screens!
More interesting is that their social interaction, their use of
subconscious, non-verbal signals and general body language hasn’t been
affected by the cameras and two-way mirrors they wake up to every day.
Actually, it’s been proven that our hands
have a lot of messages in them that we quite often ignore them, for
instance, we all know the relationship Kat has with Lexi (they hardly
get along very well) so in case Kat said to say Iris that she likes Lexi
so much but with her hands stretched away from her body, this would
only mean that she’s probably not telling the truth.
Therefore, we should actually try and not
only focus on what these housemates are saying but also on other parts
of their bodies because we could be missing out on the drama that comes
with it.
